Winter Jungle Holiday in Costa Rica

Experience a true eco-journey! This tour will take you to many of the highlights of beautiful Costa Rica. We begin our adventures in La Fortuna, home to the most active volcano in the country. Arenal steams in the distance while you enjoy its famous hot springs, zipling through the rainforest, and swimming at the base of its waterfalls.

Your journey also includes an exciting two-day white water rafting trip on the world famous Pacuare River. Slated to be dammed by the electric company, the people of Costa Rica have finally won their decade-long battle to protect this fragile, and in many places pristine, river for all to enjoy.

Next we travel to the Caribbean coast where we can enjoy the gorgeous beaches, lush tropical rainforests and distinctive cultures of this relatively undiscovered region. Lastly, we make our way up into the cloud forests for a taste of what life is like in the mountains.

Winter Tour Adventure FAQs

Q. Who joins this group?
A. Participants are men, women, couples, solo travelers and families with or without children.Children need to be age 12 or older to participate in the white water rafting activity. We welcome all open-minded, adventurous travelers. This trip is perfect for anyone who is looking for an active adventure in Costa Rica while traveling in a community setting. Travelers should be in reasonably good shape, and should anticipate a moderately challenging outdoor experience. Kids should be prepared for moderate hikes with informative and fascinating guide presentations. (We regret that childcare options are not available during activities not appropriate for children under the age of 12 -- i.e. river rafting due to its overnight nature).

Q. How do I get to Costa Rica?
A.
You will need to book your flights to arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) the day before the tour begins, or by noon on the first day, as we will be getting an early start on Day 1. We would be happy to make a reservation for you at a San Jose hotel with the rest of the early arrivals. The cost is not included in the price of the tour. A double room is usually around $80 plus tax. Regardless of when you arrive, we will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. You can depart the country anytime after 11am on the last day of the trip.

Q. What is the cost?
A. The all-inclusive land package cost is $1800 per person based on double occupancy. Single occupancy is available at an additional cost of $375.

This price includes all accommodations, meals, snacks, water, ground transportation, activities and entrance fees as listed in the itinerary, tour leader and guides. It does not include airfare, alcoholic beverages, incidentals, tips, souvenirs, and the $26 airport departure tax imposed by the Costa Rican government.
