Day 3
A morning horseback ride through a private
homestead brings us to a breathtaking waterfall. Enjoy a home cooked meal
with the family who owns the property. In the afternoon, visit an extensive
organic farm and model for sustainable development at Finca Ipe. Then drive
down to Sierpe, one of the gateways to the breathtakingly untouched Osa
Peninsula.

Overnight: Sierpe
Day 4
In the morning we are greeted by our guides
from the Campanario Biological Reserve. Leave Sierpe by boat and stop for
a kayaking trip through the mangrove forest before arriving at Campanario
in time for orientation, perhaps a quick hike, and beach time. In the evening,
learn about the basics of rainforest ecology from local naturalists.

Overnight: Campanario Biological
Reserve, Osa Peninsula
Day 5
Spend the day hiking through Corcovado National
Park, one of Costa Rica's natural wonders. Home to over 500 species of trees,
the tropical wet forests here may be the most species-rich in all of Central
America. A highlight of the area is certainly the large numbers of scarlet
macaws seen throughout the park.

gorges which drop the most beautiful waterfalls right alongside your raft.
We stop on the riverside for an excellent lunch. Then return to our inn
in the Central Valley.

Overnight: Alajuela
Day 9
After breakfast at the hotel we head directly
to the Juan Santamaria International Airport. Board the plane filled with
